Lyft Self-Driving
Lyft is currently partnering with Waymo and Aptiv to offer public Self-Driving rides. Through these partnerships Lyft has completed over 70,000 rides with an average ride rating of 4.95/5 stars. This is more public Self-Driving ride shares than any other company. These rides can be experienced today in Las Vegas, NV and Chandler, AZ.
Here is how it works
Terms of Service
When a rider is in Las Vegas, NV or Chandler, AZ they will be prompted with a terms of service screen that they must agree to in order to take a Self-Driving ride.
Catching a Self-Driving Ride
Because there are limitations where Self-Driving cars can pickup and drop-off, and there’s a limited number of cars on the road at any given time, we designed catching a Self-Driving ride to be a luck of the draw experience. Like finding a golden ticket.
Learn more about your ride
The rider can read up on what is in store for their Self-Driving ride. They can also check information such as cost of trip details. Currently, all Self-Driving cars operate with a safety driver up front.
The ride
We designed the pickup experience and the app in-ride experience to behave as much like a regular ride as possible. This is to make sure the rider does not get confused at any step of the flow.
